Jasim’s journey as a musician and a filmmaker has been a turbulent one. After Graduating from SZABIST, he stepped in the industry with a Film Production degree in hand, camera in the other, a guitar hung around his shoulders and with a heart full of passion. He accomplished many visual and musical milestones in a very short time. He is one of the youngest producer/directors to have worked with MTV Pakistan with Mr. Ghazanfar. Jasim worked with Pakistan’s first MTV unplugged but also contributed in establishing different platforms to help young musicians to showcase their talents. Aside from his music he currently runs his own production house, The DP SHOP, in the Twin Cities. Jasim was taught guitar by Mr. Wahab Rasheed (mentor of Amir Zaki). After seeing Jasim’s potential, Mr. Wahab felt that he is one of the fastest learners he has come across. While plucking his guitar strings, this rising virtuoso has been inspired by Vital Signs, Shoiab Mansoor and Blues. He has performed numerous times with underground bands in Karachi and is famous for his skills in Blues music (also referred by his musian friends as “The Blues Man”.) Jasim is known for his single “Pindi Boys” which became an internet sensation. This gave the name of his band as “Jasim Haider & The Pindi Boys”.
