Pakistani Percussionists

Many people in Pakistan don’t know what percussion is, but it’s a huge part of the music industry! Today, we’re shining a light on the talented artists who create the beats and rhythms that make our favorite songs come alive. But first… what are percussions?

What are percussions?

Let’s talk about percussion. You know, the drums and other instruments that make music by being hit or shaken? Percussion is important in music because it helps keep the beat and makes the rhythm. It’s like the heartbeat of music! There are many types of percussion instruments, like drums, cymbals, and xylophones. Each one makes a different sound. Percussionists are the people who play these instruments. They help create the music and make it sound good. Here are some of them:

Aziz Kazi

I first discovered Aziz Kazi’s talent through Maghron La – I was so intrigued by the music that I looked through the breakdown of artists behind this beautiful song. Although other amazing artists produce great music for the song, I couldn’t help but notice Aziz Kazi, the beats are celestial. The song makes you want to jump up and dance.

Veeru Shan

What can we say about this talented percussionist who is also a traveler? Not only did he bring the energy to Harkalay, but she’s also rocked it in other hit songs like Aayi Aayi, Maghron La, and 2 am by Talha Anjum. Her playing is so skillful, it adds depth and rhythm to every track she touches. No wonder she’s a talented musician in the industry!

Haroon Daniel

This guy’s got skills! He plays an awesome octapad in “Sajan Das Na”? Yeah, that was just the beginning! He’s also brought his magic to tracks like. Haroon’s versatility and creativity make him a standout musician, and we can’t get enough of his beats!

Joshua Amjad

You have probably heard his mesmerizing tabla skills in “Moaziz Sarif”? Mind-blowing, right? He’s also wowed us with his talent in new Joshua’s master of his craft, and his unique sound has earned him serious recognition in the music world. We’re big fans!

Hey, fun fact: all four of these talented artists – Aziz Kazi, Veeru Shan, Haroon Daniel, and Joshua Amjad – have been featured on Coke Studio! We’re super excited to see what they come up with next!
